Stag hunting
This stained glass window, probably from the castle of Anet, was made after a model provided by Jan van der Straët, known as Stradanus (1523-1605). In his collection of engravings, entitled Venationes ferarum avium piscium, the hunting and fishing methods popular in Europe in the 16th century are depicted. The scene depicts the killing of a deer by hunters armed with swords and swords and testifies to the wide distribution of Stradanus' engravings in the decorative arts.
