Triptych
The relationship between landscape and time is a recurring theme in the work of Jeffrey Blondes. In this video, this American artist based in Touraine shows the progression of the seasons and the inevitable transformation of nature. Three still shots present a rural landscape composed around a tree, a body of water and a piece of sky. The images were shot one hour per week for one year and thus constitute three videos of fifty-two hours corresponding to the fifty-two weeks of the year.
This digital triptych is comparable to a series of paintings. The almost motionless digital images are framed in wood. These slow visions symbolize the three elements: earth, water and air. By capturing the invisible movements of nature, the video artist proposes a poetic vision.
